Located on Milwaukee Avenue straddling the bustling Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods, this Ipsento cafe is a lively, vibrant place to grab a cup of coffee – and it’s just a short train ride from downtown Chicago. This place is a fast-paced environment, and seating is at a prime.
While you might wait in line to order, the well-staffed team of baristas waste no time in preparing your order at their dueling bar. To keep things moving they even have their milk on tap! A busy cafe is a good indicator that they’re doing something right, and nobody seems to mind the wait.
The cafe is a blend of traditional, industrial, and modern elements. You’ll find a handful of a tables and bar seating that overlooks the pocket park outside with garage-door windows that open in the summer. If you can’t find a seat inside there’s sure to be a seat on the outcropping stone in the park.
We were at Ipsento on a pleasant spring morning so the park was filled with Chicagoans with coffee in tote. The Parks Bridge is part of the 606 Recreational Trail, just next to the cafe.
Rumor has it that Ipsento Coffee is a must-try when in the Chicago area, so we had high expectations. Their menu includes some non-coffee options, such as chai, tea, milk, and alcohol.
Cardamom Rose Latte – This drink was a dream. The definition of smooth. The cardamom pairs perfectly with the floral notes. We would order this drink over and over again. Quality latte art to match the craftmanship of the drink.
Iced Ipsento Latte – We ordered this on recommendation of anyone who has ever gone to Ipsento. Can confirm: They aren’t crazy. This was an amazingly creamy, perfectly sweetened and absolutely delicious drink. We appreciated that this wasn’t too ice-heavy. Additionally, we can confirm that it’s also great with almond milk!
Iced Nutella Latte – Exceptionally authentic-tasting, this Nutella latte was yet another hit with us. This drink was balanced well with Ipsento’s Cascade espresso. This is sure to be a huge hit for these warm days to come.
Donuts – These bite sized donuts are available individually, in a six pack or by the dozen. We tried them all! Each donut is uniquely crafted. We experienced flavors of maple, coconut, lime as well as the more traditional donut flavors. The packaging is a cool as these little donut delights are.
To any coffee enthusiast in
Chicago America, we think you’d love your experience at Ipsento. We’d like to hear what you ordered and what you think! As for us, we’ll be back, Ipsento 606!
